Susan Stephenson-Baker & Wayne Baker
Sue’s interest in artistic blacksmithing started about 20 years ago during a traditional blacksmithing workshop here in The County at the Ameliasburg Heritage Museum.
Since then, she has continued to explore the world of metal forging and fabrication. She has studied artistic blacksmithing at the Haliburton School of Arts and has participated in workshops with Master Blacksmith Stephan Duerst and local Artist Blacksmith, Bruce Milan of Island Forge.
Now that Sue is retired, she has been able to combine her love of all things metal with her husband Wayne’s amazing talent with woodworking.
All the wood used in their projects comes from their farm’s woodlot here in Prince Edward County. They harvest, mill and finish the wood themselves. County Cherry and Ash are their favourite woods to work with.
Sue was born and raised in the area and she and Wayne have resided in The County for 36 years.
