Barb Hogenauer – Prince Edward County Studio

Barb works out of her in-house studio, Prince Edward County Studio, and loves experimenting with new ideas, researching and learning is part of her process. Her canvases go through various layers of paint, building up texture and colour. The initial inspiration is the key to the process that evolves. An avid canoeist and hiker, Barb has always had a very strong connection to the natural world. She is drawn to a particular scene, watching light travel across the sky, casting shadows, especially early morning or late afternoon light. Attempting to interpret that world, creating work that evokes an emotional impact, is what intrigues and drives her.
