Judy Plomer

One of the most wonderful gifts artist Judy ever received was a wooden paint box filled with oil paints and “How to Paint” booklets. It took more than 20 years before she had the time to enroll in a community art workshop and begin her artful journey.

Over the years, Judy has studied with many outstanding artists in Toronto, Ottawa, Prince Edward County and The Laurentians…never missing a chance to learn new and creative applications in the mediums of acrylic, pastel and oil.

In 1999, Judy marked her debut as an artist when she was accepted into the annual “Art in the County” juried art exhibition in Prince Edward County (the largest and most prestigious in Eastern Ontario). It was an honour that has been repeated many, many times since. In 2009, Judy was awarded a “Jurors Award” at Art in the County for her pastel work titled “Poppy Passion”.

With the beautiful island community of Prince Edward County as the backdrop for her inspiration, Judy creates colourful paintings of daring, exciting texture, blasts of bold colour, well executed design and strong brushstrokes to create beautiful florals, landscapes and waterways.

Judy is a member of the Prince Edward Arts Council and The Algonquin Expeditionary Group of Artists. She participates in many art exhibitions and group shows annually.

Judy creates from her studio in the Black River area of “The County” where she is inspired daily by her peaceful, beautiful surroundings.
