Maggie’s Gone to Pot – Maggie Hesketh

I began my journey with clay in Vancouver in the mid 90’s, my husband gave me pottery lessons for my birthday. I was immediately hooked and have been ever since.

In 1999 I opened Claytek Studios in False Creek, which I operated until 2003 when I sold the business to a group of studio members. I then set up my first solo studio at our home in Celista, BC. We then moved to London Ontario where I again set up my own home studio and continued to practice my craft for the next 10 years. Last year we moved to Picton and I set up my studio at Loch-Sloy Business Park. I continue to practice my craft and can be found most days at my studio.

I enjoy continuing my education and exploration of clay with a combination of decorative and functional work. Taking workshops and classes inspire me to try new types of work and firing techniques.
