About Melody’s Garden

I started Melody’s Garden because I wanted to know about the ingredients in my skin care, hair care and cosmetics. I learned many of the ingredients were toxic, and I was paying high prices for the products I frequently used. More importantly, I was also trying to live a healthier lifestyle which included using natural body care products, as well as concentrating on organic plant based nutrition.

So, after studying with herbalist John Redden, owner of Viriditas Toronto, (with whom I made my first lotions) I was inspired to try and make my own products selecting only naturally healthy and organic ingredients and using techniques tried and true, some from hundreds of years ago. Subsequently, I met Jan Benham, England, owner of the Aroma Shoppe and School of Aromatherapy who taught me cosmetic making, and Tracey Tief of Annares Apothecary, Toronto, who was also invaluable to my education.
