Dr. Nelson’s Improved Inhaler

A genuine medical curio, was made from earthenware in about 1850-1880 by Royal Winton in England. This  nhaler “Dr. Nelson’s Improved Inhaler” – designed to produce steam which when inhaled helped with chest infections and throat dehydration.  Sometime additional ingredients were added to produce medical infusions. This one lacks its stopper and glass tube but it retains great character and is an interesting and distinctive item nonetheless – and probably not for actual use!
