Description

Terry Sprague is a local Prince Edward County legend especially in the outdoor animal world.  He is a professional interpretive naturalist who lives on Big Island.. His weekly columns on nature appeared in local newspapers between 1965 and 2014. Since 1976, he has held positions as a fisheries technician, interpretive park naturalist at Sandbanks Provincial Park, and as an outdoor educator with Quinte Conservation. Now working as a freelance naturalist, he offers guided interpretive hikes and canoe/kayak paddles around the region, focusing on the interesting diversity of both natural and human history that can be found in eastern Ontario. He holds a diploma in wildlife management and ecology. He is recipient of the 2002 Pioneer Conservationist Award from Conservation Ontario, the 2004 Richards Education Award from Ontario Nature and the 2015 Gold Quill Award. His website NatureStuff, promotes an interest in nature in the Bay of Quinte region.
