Established in 2016, Sandbanks Bees is the product of a vision shared by two local families in Prince Edward County. It is a small family run business working tirelessly to provide their beloved community with quality small batch honey products in the rawest form possible. Our bees assist in the pollination of local cash crops and vegetables across PEC. In the first year of business products were sold only through one retail location and word-of-mouth. Now, the business has grown into various retail locations throughout the County & Quinte region and recently moved online. Originally, Sandbanks Bees honey was bottled in the historic Muth Jar which dates back to the early 1800s. Mr. Charles Muth, one of the largest honey sellers at the time, designed and hand crafted the jar while the majority of honey producers were using tin containers. This vintage glass packaging is what makes us unique. We have also added additional bottle options and sizes as we grew.
