This piece was part of the I series and is present in the Arkinstall and Son, Arcadian Arms China miniature series Catalogue. It contains the motto “Floreat Salopia” for which the term “Salopian” is derived from “Salop” and is still used to mean “from Shropshire”. However Salop can also mean the county town Shrewsbury. So the motto of this piece means “may Shrewsbury flourish”. It was likely made in the late 1910’s or early 1920’s could have been made anywhere between 1904 and 1924.
